Charles Harlow Pease opened greater Cincinnati’s first door and sash business in 1893. In the family’s first 60 years in the home building industry, Charles and his four sons showed resiliency through challenging economic times and ingenuity in building their business into a Midwest, then national leader. Resiliency and ingenuity are two traits that are still at work at Pease. In 1960, David Pease Jr. invented the first residential steel door, soon a standard feature in most American and Canadian homes.
